The “Training on Preparing Program Self-Evaluation Reports” for undergraduate programs at our university was held on June 23, 2025, and delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Koray KASAPOĞLU, Assistant Coordinator of Quality.
The training was organized in accordance with the provisions set forth in Chapter Four of the Education and Training Directive dated March 8, 2021. The directive ensures the implementation of program monitoring, evaluation, and accreditation processes—including program self-evaluation and peer review—for programs that continue to admit students. It also defines the procedures and principles governing these processes. According to Article 11/2 of the directive, self-evaluation reports are prepared by program self-evaluation teams in July of odd-numbered years for undergraduate programs and in even-numbered years for associate and graduate programs. These reports are submitted to the relevant unit administration through the head of the department or the head of the academic/artistic discipline.
During the training, the rationale for conducting self-evaluations, their significance within the quality assurance processes defined by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), the legal basis within our university, and the theoretical foundations from the field of educational sciences were addressed. The training concluded with the evaluation of participants’ feedback, suggestions, and questions.
